The Problem
Talking toys, such as Dino by Elemental Path CogniToys, opens up privacy concerns for children protected under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection.
The Solution
For a hypothetical course assignment, I wrote a report that outlines three plausible use-case scenarios that could potentially jeopardize the toy's compliance, and I provide design recommendations for the toy to maintain compliance.
